There is a new Football Stadium being built in the City of Santa Clara for the 49ers. The 68,000 seat, 1.9 Mil. square foot facility is scheduled to be completed in July 2014. In parallel with the Stadium construction, the Stadium Authority and the team are currently engaged in preparing the Traffic Management and Operations Plan (TMOP) to ensure smooth ingress and egress to and from the Stadium before and after an event. This effort is being coordinated with the adjoining cities as well as agencies such as VTA, JPB and Caltrans. The presenters will share the plan to manage vehicular, pedestrian, bike and bus traffic around the Stadium. Don't miss this exciting presentation.
About the Presenters: Rajeev Batra, P.E. : Rajeev is the Director of Public Works/City Engineer for the City of Santa Clara. He has been with the City of Santa Clara for the past 11 years during which he has guided the Department in completing successful projects such as the Mission City Ballroom, Central Park Library, several new Fire Stations, Northside Branch Library (under construction), award winning San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail and South of Forest Neighborhood Street Improvements, and numerous development projects. Prior to that Rajeev was with the City of San Jose for 19 years finishing his career with that City as Acting Director of Public Works.
Dennis Ng, P.E., T.E.: Dennis has been with the City of Santa Clara for the past 4.5 years as the City Traffic Engineer. Dennis manages the Traffic Division in Public Works and is responsible for traffic operations and transportation planning for the City. Dennis is the City staff lead to prepare the TMOP along with the consultant AECOM retained by the 49ers. Prior to coming to Santa Clara, Dennis was with the City of Sunnyvale for 11 years in the Transportation and Traffic Division.
