2017 Internship Progam
Dear Chapter Member,

The American Public Works Association (APWA) Silicon Valley Chapter (SVC) is very excited to be in a position to offer our fourth annual Internship Program for both the public and private sector to participate in for 2017!  As a committee member of the program I am reaching out to you to confirm your interest to be a potential Public Works intern employer for this exciting new program, which also includes the following participation benefits: 

Shared internship costs up to $1,000 for up to eight employers.
Compliment / augment staff.
Ability to select and interview intern(s) from qualified pool based on your need.
Recruiting option for your new employees.

I’ve attached the following Internship Program documents for your review: 

1.      Cover Letter – Summarizes the new Internship Program.
2.      Student Application Form.
3.      Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – Between SVC and intern employer (draft form).

Please contact Roger Lee (City of Cupertino) at (408) 777-3350 or e-mail rogerl@cupertino.org or myself to let us know you are interested in participating in the program by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017.   The committee anticipates following-up with a kick-off meeting the last week of March with all interested internship employers prior to short-listing the qualified pool of internship applicants.  The committee will also confirm what experiences/ qualities employers are looking for at the kick –off meeting.
